A mutual message to the members of Congress and the Chairman.

Condemnation message of the desecration of Jewish cemetery in Ioannina, Greece.

The Chairman of the Congress, advocate Eli Nacht and all the head members of the Jewish Municipality Leaders’ Congress are condemning the cowardly act of the cemetery desecration in the city of Ioannina, the capital of the Epirus county.
As well, the congress demands from the local police to begin an investigation of the destruction of tombs in a Jewish cemetery.
We find those acts as desecration of the honor of those who lost their lives, and they are totally unacceptable.
Eli Nacht has added: “We are strengthening the hands of the Jewish Mayor, Professor Elisaf Moses in these tough moments, the Jews of Greece have gone through antisemitism, and the sons of Ioannina were among first who lost their lives in Auschwitz. We as members of congress which unites city leaders, will do everything so that antisemitism will disappear from the pages of history”.
The Mayor of Ioannina and member of the congress has joined the condemning message:
“Thank you for your support during these difficult  times and invaluable help for the survival of our tiny though historical Jewish Community”.
