Shlomo Neeman

Head of the local council Gush Etzion. Was born in 1973 in Berobijan.
From a young age he took part in Jewish and Zionist activity in his city, at age 16 he established the Beitar movement branch in Berobijan, and became the commander of MAOZ. He made Aliyah to Israel in 1990. Graduated from, Jacob Hertzog college. Served in the IDF as a combat solider and paramedic in the armed forces. After his demobilization he changed his military carrier and became Rabbi in the IDF with rank of a captain. From the year of 2000, he performed a series of roles in the Jewish Agency. First as consul in Ukraine and Moldova, then as the director of the Jewish formal education system, and finally, as the director of the Jewish education division in the former USSR. Married to Shlomit and a father of 5 children.
